Hello,
I picked up some cheap plastic cooking utensils from Walmart and the tips are melting whenever I cook. I have mostly stainless steel pots/pans with a few nonstick pans. I'm trying to find a good quality cooking utensil set that's not stainless steel but I'm having a hard time finding one.
Any recommendations? It doesn't have to be plastic.
I would use the professional style stainless spoons for the stainless steel, they are the best. I picked up mine from Sam's club but I'm sure you can pick them up at a discount kitchen supply store or warehouse club. I would use good old fashioned wooden spoons, too, there's a reason they are still around today, because they work very well. I would also invest in a couple of good quality silicone rubber spatulas, I use mine quite a bit. Good luck.
I have the T-Fal plastic cooking utensil set and have had it for four years now. I use it often and cook with it in stainless steel pans at high heat and have had no problem. I also put it in the dishwasher and have had no problems with it melting there either.
wood works most of the time for me, and it doesn't heat up and burn you so you can leave it in the pan or pot while you're cooking. They're usually not too expensive.
Otherwise you would probably have to choose a more expensive alternative
I love the utensils from Pampered Chef. My mom used to sell that stuff, so growing up we had a lot. I recently moved out and found myself missing those utensils. I melted mine from walmart too.
You can also go to any kitchen store or department store and get them. Just make sure you read the tag and make sure they say "heat resistant to X degrees" the x should be at least 400.
Wood and steel is your best bet. Have you been to your local dollar store? You will be suprised of what you can find in there.
Hello to you too! My top pick is my Rubbermaid Spatula, it's heat resistant up to 450 degrees, I also recommend Kitchen Aid, but be wary of the knock offs that are out there. The real ones are heavier in weight, have comfortable strong handles and are very plexible. I also found some cheaper ones at Target called ChefMate and they are heat resistant also,up to 400 degrees. I hope this helps you out to find what's best for you, without breaking your wallet! Happy Sunday to you!
