What should I do if I impulsively sprayed pesticide on a cabinet full of cooking utensils?

There were a lot of roaches when I were busy cleaning the kitchen cabinet so my hand instinctively grab the insecticide and aim at the roaches without thinking the effects. I used Mortein Roach Control Class IV. What steps should I take now? I am worry not only for mine but everyone else health. Please help me.

Thank you for your time and concern.

read the label of the product..it will say whether or not any eating utensils sprayed are reusable or not. For the most part the insecticide formulations used in aerosol products don't really stick well to metals and glass so thoroughly cleaning in warm soapy water should be fine, but once again the label or contacting the company will tell you for sure…for your type of roach infestation you will get better results going with a roach gel bait such as Combat that comes in a large syringe

once they are washed, then put down a shelf liner to keep things like pot lids from touching where you've sprayed the insecticide…… the walls, too, if your utensils will be touching them….. that will set your mind at ease… but the one you used is a low=toxicity pyrethroid….

"5. Use Low toxic Sprays. These insecticides are fourth-generation synthetic pyrethroids (a class of chemicals based on the naturally occurring insecticide pyrethrum). The best according to a recent test by Choice magazine were:

    BAYGON Advanced High Performance
    MORTEIN High Performance
    RAID Protector
    ATLAS Crawling Insect
    - all contain the insecticide cypermethrin, with all but the RAID containing imiprothrin as well. "

so you may not have to worry quite so much….. just don't do that again!!!…..

Dishwasher (or good hand washing with soap and warm water) should take it off

Using gloves to wash the cooking utensils with warm, hot if you can,
soapy water can remove the spray. After that putting them in the dish washer will help.
Or put them in the dishwasher.

Honestly, I would be washing everything over with or without the spray. Call an exterminator and get a price on treatment. they will use the best and safest method to get rid of them and you would be spending the money on sprays for the next 6 months anyway. And make sure they guarantee the job.
